A Stormy Sea- Original

I don’t live near the sea, as we're surrounded by lakes in my native Cavan. But sometimes I crave to hear a stormy sea with waves crashing while I’m tucked up inside with a book in front of an open fire, feeling safe but present within nature. I hope this painting elicits the movement and sounds of the sea when you see it.

I loved painting this. Adding purple hues to the sky and creating the movement in the waves. I started out with a canvas painted with blue acrylic and worked over this with oils. This painting is 18″ x 24″ inches and comes framed with a handmade hand painted frame.
